You should be hosting as a normal user.
You should only be root to install things or make administrative changes. |

From me memory(it's been years since I hosted a BYOND game) bad world errors normally happen when either a problem with compiling happens or you forget to transfer the rsc file with the dmb.

Not having the RSC, as far as I know, just generates cache errors in the world, it doesn't actually disallow the world from running.

Also, you didn't provide near enough information about what is set up to receive help. From the sounds of it, something is just plain wrong with the game you are attempting to host.
