Installing Linux Package on Unbuntu

OK, I've searched the guild's site for how to install BYOND on Ubuntu Linux, I have the most recent version. Also, I tried the "Using Whine and Install BYOND Windows" trick and Everything works except Daemon and Maker, which takes 90% out of the purpose of BYOND. I've also read the how to install txt file included with the Zip and it didnt get me anywhere, so can someone maybe give me a step-by-step tutorial of how to do this? Thanks!

Dream Daemon and Dream Maker should both work fine under Wine. Make sure you have the latest version from http://winehq.org as the local repos for Ubuntu are very old.

But if you are looking to host on a Linux machine you should use the Linux native version of DreamDaemon. You said you tried to install it, what went wrong? Was there an error in the steps included with the install.txt, or did you simply not understand an instruction?
