Is there like.. an original Linux I could download? I checked linux.com, but I really don't see a link for just the original Linux. :(
Um...........

That's a really wierd question. Linux is just an operating system component -- a kernel. There are a bunch of userspace components that are required to actually make a usable system, and for most people, "usable" means much more than just having the core userspace components as well.

If you want a "generic" linux, without a lot of frills and stuff, then here are my suggestions: Debian, Slackware, Gentoo, and Arch.

Right, but what I'm saying is, when LINUX first got released, it was usable just by itself correct?

It is still usable just "as is". That's what all the distributions do -- use the Linux kernel, as is, just like when it was first released.
