It looks like our winner for this week is D4RK3 54B3R, who squeezed in a record time of 4432 only 15 minutes before midnight to overtake Nadrew's week-long record of 4299. We can also note Super_Magi_Man's score of 4017, not too for behind. But in the end, D4RK3 54B3R is the one who wins our shiny purple medal:

Thanks everyone for participating. However, given that participation has been dwindling lately and we've had the same winners repeatedly, I'm thinking I'll cut back on competitions for a while. Plus I've had some other projects on my mind and I haven't been focusing on Tomb Explorer.

I'd have liked to change things around so that the one who gets the best score on their first play through is the winner, but it seems like there are too many ways to cheat a system like that, and its not worth the trouble of trying to implement.
Oh, I liked the competitions :(
I can still hold them, just not every week. Besides, I'm running out of maps.

Heh, It's pretty hard to compete with Nadrew and D4RK3, but that's what makes it all the more fun. Since this is not such a large project, I assume you aim to make it non-BYOND soon? Like running it independantly? Without a client, etc?

That'd be pretty awesome.
I don't have any non-BYOND programming knowledge unfortunately. If I did, I probably wouldn't be writing games for BYOND in the first place given that most people here are looking for online games.

It's never too late to learn. Additionally, while you write your game you'll be learning indirectly, which is probably the best way, by doing...

Anyway, I understand.

I actually kind of forgot about the competition until the last minute. I've been busy pretty much all weekend, anyway.

Congratulations on another successful win, Darke. I think I should kill you and take your medals.

How about you pay me to give you medals instead?

But murder is so much cheaper. =)
