Since I don't have alot of time to tell you about it before work I figured I'd show you the rough example.
I'll explain more about my updates later, darn work and rushes!

Well with a little help from Evi of au, I managed to bring about a way of displaying item values in gear, skills and other non-consumables by use of the mouseover proc.

Tooltips are sexy.

If you can make that background slightly more translucent, it would be sexier :o

The dragon balls -should- grant any wish granted by a human GM.
Isn't that what the Anime is about? A person uses the dragon ball to gain unstoppable power, and it's up to a group of Z fighters to take him down before he/she destroys earth. If you can make a combat system -not- totally ruled by numbers, introducing physical challenges such as dexterity, a group of players would be able to take down even the strongest human players. What if they ask for a lot of money? Give it to them. And again, let the game mechanic decide how to counter it. Limit the usefulness of items sold? meaning, don't sell the best equipment in vendors. or maybe some sort of anti-inflation system worked out by in-game merchants. Even shenron has limit's to his wishes. You could always just say no to a wish that would break the game. :) Oh yeah... the mouse overs are cool, a little too off position, imo. |
someone missed the point.
also, belated welcome back. nice to see you around and working again. |

someone missed the point. Nah. I just have a tendency to ramble on about random off topic stuff. |
Actually the dragonballs themselves will have little to do with the game, at least the ones in the series. The way I figure the guardian of earth in the time frame I wish the game to take place (far enough to create a reasonable fan fic story) isn't namekian, and I have a side story explaining the loss of the namekian dragon balls.
There will be some form of them however, but that story shall remain hidden until I decide to reveal it. I did write an entire story to the game by the way, so there will be some form of a linear storyline, or a series of them. Some people may not like that, some people might. The point is, as a fan I agree that it shadows the series rather well, while keeping the majority of this game fresh and somewhat original (aside from the race, planet and dragon ball references that is) the rest is pretty much my concoction. I'm very certain that once it's in a playable state, it will be enjoyable to the majority of people. Whether or not you're a fan of the show/books. |
You assume the game will require training.:p... I may have something that mirrors the thought of training, but there won't be actual training.
