I was just minding my own buisiness enjoying the role playing aspect of space station 13 while on the Gibbed #4 server when out of nowhere an admin (I was so filled with dissapointment that I forgot to get his name) punished me for having the name The Lord Of The Universe... He said it "went against the role playing aspect of the game" or something along those lines. The ironic thing is he made me explode into an owl while I was chatting with someone in the game, how does that not go against role playing?
That is not the only thing that dissapoints me about this. The last time I played on that server it was so much fun there was a blastoise flying around causing all kind of chaos. there were rediculus creatures with names like "infinite monkeys" and "your true mother". Yet the next day I get punished for having a name like The Lord Of The Universe by a different admin, how does that make sence?
I love this game but if stuff like this keeps happening Im not sure Im going to keep playing it... if having fun is against the rules. :(

I think the point was that they thought Gibbed #4 wasn't a serious RP server, since it hadn't seen like that the day before.
And... Either Gibbed #3 or Gibbed #4 actually warned me that they were very light on RP - Apparently I was acting more IC than they were used to, though it mainly involved re-phrasing my radio messages to say stuff like 'say ";This is the engineer speaking, initiating singularity engine now' instead of 'OOC "Got the engine started"' So, you know, it wasn't like I was talking about my character's love of monkeys - well, I kinda have to agree that it doesn't seem that way... Low (but not NO) roleplay actually seems appropriate for all of the game-interested part of SA - the more frequent posters in their LP subforum seems capable of switching between story-telling and meta-discussion of a game at will, but as far as I can tell they do it for fun, not because being in character is something you should do. And I've read some of what the EVE group did, some of it was rather creative in terms of story-telling/roleplaying. | |

lol Good advice. One question; were you roleplaying as god or just used that name? If you were literally godmoding because your "The Lord Of The Universe" meaning god... then yeah whichever admin did this... it is deserved...

I was just using the name to be funny and to see how people would end up killing me... one time after yelling NOOOOOOOOOOOO in the chat I just exploded out of nowhere which I thought was funny. It wasnt like I was invincible or anything but I dont care I was tired of using that name anyways.

Although there was this one time on a completely different server where I got kicked for using one of the randomly generated names... I think that admin was just being retarded.

gorillamylove or something banned my friend for knocking out a guy when there were literally 5 seconds left in the game and they were both trapped in a room. That same freind was put on "probation" for making radium pills a few days ago

when i first played SS13 i was banned and when i try to play on Gibbs server it tells me im banned and it telles me im banned and the the reason said "you should know why your banned" but i realy dont.

Saroxen on pleasure palace server banned me for following the law instead of authority! Saroxen was a admin playing in-game as a Centcom rep. but he wa scauseing a very dangerous prisoner to get out. he wouldn't get out so i tried to remove him by force. he then stunned me, dragged me to the top of the brig where he too kme hostae and killed a chaplain and multiple guards with a desert eagle! then sent deathsquad to kill me and and also kill multiiple innocents never invovled in the event! then he banned me under temrs,"i don't belong"! why don't i belong? cause i am not afraid to arrest you if you break the law even if your an admin?
