Arnold is too soft, he'll end up sparing his life. Especially with so many people protesting against it, but if he does spare tookie, there's going to be some major political issues coming Arnold's way, but it's worth it, i guess.

Sadly, I think that many of you are completely uninformed about this entire issue... or are simply too immature to understand anything but "Kill! Kill!". Go do some research on what Williams has accomplished. If you're too lazy to do research, then rent the movie "Redemption".

I have done research, SilkWizard. I've picked up and read one of his books. I've looked at his webpage and read his history. That is all irrelevant. He killed people and was sentenced to death, and that sentence needs to be followed through.

"That is all irrelevant. He killed people and was sentenced to death, and that sentence needs to be followed through."
Well, if you think that touching the lives of thousands of children by teaching them to stay out of gangs and prison, negotiating a peace agreement between two rival gangs, being nominated for the Nobel Peace prize multiple times and spending the past 10-15 years devoted to making other people's lives better is irrelevant, then I feel sorry for you. |
You misunderstand me. I agree that what he has done recently is good and that he's sending a good message to young children, but what message will sparing him show? "Oh, I can kill people and get away with it too, I just have to apologize!"
Except that Tookie never apologized. He still denies that he murdered those people. In any case, yeah, it's good what he did, but it's too little too late. He committed the crime, now he has to face the punishment. |
but you can't just say "well he behaved well while he was sitting on death row", because he didn't have much of a choice. he can't do something worse than what he's done because he's in jail, so he *has* to be behaving better.
many people on death row find Jesus, or have some incredible change in their lives, and strangely, that seems to happen much less often to people that only receive prison terms. He committed the crime, now he has to face the punishment. but, is that punishment correct? just because that was decided to be his punishment, that doesn't make it correct. |
I really don't believe in the death penalty. Really, it should be a matter him actually contributing to the community from Jail, since he is actually doing some good. Think of it this way, he won't be out on the streets, but he will be teaching young boys and girls not to do what he has done, or they will most likely end up in the situation that he is in.

Kill this killer. If it makes someone feel that they are a killer for killing this scumbag, let me kill him. I have a problem. If you kill someone and you get to 'enjoy' a life ... that's just fucked up.
