Did I forget to mention I'm a American? ^.^
Zeen, you attacked my religon, and my > people. That's the only reason I blew up > that badly at you.

And all in three lines!
"1. A while ago I had a friend who was actually supposed to take out Saddam(sniper) and was ordered to stand down by George Walker Bush Sr. Now that tells yah somethin there..."

Yeah, even in the 90's American business with saddam was funny. Its not very well known but America was involved in destroying Kurdish Rebelion against saddam by promising help and then leaving them to die.
Well said Ace.
Yeah my parents know more about what went on I believe Mike, seeing as their Kurdish. :P
Zeen, if you didn't meen to be sarcastic, then I'm sorry. But it definitly seemed like one of those self-indulging, condesceding, fake apologies.
Ummm... When did Zeen apologise for anything? He/she didn't DO anything.
"I have sworn upon the altar of God eternal hostility toward every form of Tyranny over the minds of men" -Thomas Jefferson

That's a quote I have memorized after I went to the Jefferson Memorial in Washington D.C. Rarely has an manmade object so inspired me. After reading about my forefathers and finding out about my family's history...I find it to be conclusive that freedom must be preserved no matter what the cost. My beliefs are firm, they hide no alterior motive, I have but one goal: to leave this earth in better shape than when I first came into it, especially if it means the destruction of tyranny. It is inconcievable for me to settle on anything less.
Jp, that would require actually reading...
I'm a she. :P

I never apologised Rockinawsome. I was being sarcastic in my "I'm so sorry", it was more of a pity to you and all the other Christians out there.
Here's a hint, then, R-man.

1 - Dump religions. All of them. They all encourage tyranny.

2 - Get rid of the current American government, and change the current American voting system. It's even worse then religions in terms of tyranny.

I've read through Zeen's posts, he hasn't apologised for anything. Nor done anything, until after you attacked him.
I'm a girl!!!!
Oops, sorry. I'm being gender-centric. You know how it is talking to people over the 'net, Zeen. I tend to end up using 'he' as a generic prefix, and I posted while you were writing your last post.

English needs a gender-indeterminate pronoun...
Haha, okie dokie.

Use the word "It" if you don't know someone's gender. =)
Yeah, but that implies the *absence* of gender, which isn't what I want to get across.
a good Gender-indeterminate pronoun...how about going with surfers and using the word dude? Them surfers know alot...
I gotta thank Ace for bringing this to my attention.

I must say Rockinawesome scares me quite a bit. Whenever someone adds religion and killing into the same argument things are bound to get nasty. Wanting to fight terrorists and tyranny is one thing, but justifying it with some relgious motives just proves how brainless some people can be.

For the sake of argument the US could start a war with Nazi Germany and still face criticisms. Of course starting a war is a big event and should be criticized. I believe the Iraq war had some alterior motives but in the end deposing Saddam was a good thing. I've got a friend who'll be going over there within the future and hopefully he'll be able to give me a first person perspective of what things are really like, provided he stays safe. Now you can argue that going to war for the wrong reasons even if there was a good result is morally wrong, but I'm trying to see the possible good that could come out of Saddam free Iraq. Hopefully they can prevent further dictators from gaining power and everything that we're doing there isn't for naught.

I'm sorry but I gotta go back to religion. I'm a former Christian myself, and I'm incredibly glad I finally gained the ability to think for myself. It allowed me to see the flaws in Christianity and to see why its no different than any of the other religions out there. Perhaps you should take a critical look at it Rockin and learn to think for yourself and not what those around you tell you to believe.
One comment on the debate:

"A note - The people in Iraq aren't terrorists. They target military targets - That makes them guerillas. Please learn what the definition of 'terrorist' is before you bandy it around."

Yeah, random civilians milling around in a crowded marketplace are totally valid military targets. Oh, and hospitals--definitely a major military target. And beheading a kidnapped foreign aid worker is equivalent to taking out a tank, such is the scope of the military threat they encompass.

It's like a Venn diagram: there are some fighters in Iraq who are terrorists, and some fighters in Iraq who are insurgents, and some fighters in Iraq who are both insurgents and terrorists.
You've also got to remember that the definition of 'military target' in the standard lexicon of the rules of war also includes a military target situated in the same place as something you wouldn't normally attack. So, say a general decided to place his HQ on the first floor of a hospital - That building becomes a valid military target.

Although I agree - there are terrorists in Iraq. Now, at least. But the way Rockin was going about it seemed to imply that any enemy the US was fighting that happened to be a bit sneaky was a terrorist.
The Iraqi people refer to the terrorists as common criminals. Call them what you will. They are still evil, they still maim and destroy countless innocents, they still further the tyrannical agenda of madmen. And they still deserve to be destroyed.
