Thats alot of horror stories.
|
I have used paypal for awhile now. The do those things, but only if you break the rules. That site was made by a bunch of people crying becuase they cheated and lost.
|
I didn't read any of the horror stories, but from judging the information on the main site, I'm not worried. It seems to be referring to money that individuals or organizations place in their PaPal accounts, but not the bank accounts or credit cards that a person uses to purchase with PayPal. Since I don't ever put money into a PayPal account, It doesn't sound like I have any fears. If PayPal wants to dip their hand into my Checking Account, I'll have a lawsuit into them so fast, they won't even have time to pull their pants back up.
|
Also keep into account the massive ammount of spyware going around these days. Missing money? omg paypal iz 2 blam3! Not neccisarilly. omg i waz frozn. Probably becuase somebody broke the rules or terms of server while logged into your name.

I have used paypal for awhile now. The do those things, but only if you break the rules. That site was made by a bunch of people crying becuase they cheated and lost. I said the exact same thing. They were either caught scamming or were scammed. PayPal Scamming isn't rare, I've submited my fair share of scam websites. If you're not new to the internet you can easilly see when theres a scam. It's no different to internet banking. If they ask you for your pin number, It's a scam. If you don't see the little padlock in the satus bar of your window, or the padlock is unlocked, it's a scam. And with paypal, if it isn't 'https' it's a scam. |
I have used PayPal for 2 years now and never had a problem, but I never keep money on my account either.
I pay people through PayPal with my debit or credit card directly. And if i have any money on the account I cash it out right away from any sales I may have. |
Id like to point out some of the stupidy of some of these people also..
..."when I tried to transfer money to one of my two checking accounts. When l logged in to transfer my funds the bank account was not there!..." Guess what, there are millions of people who use PayPal and it might take up to 3 days for them to transfer money, you would know that if you read the web site. "...I tried to re-establish the account, but when I did this the system told me that the bank account was in use by another PayPal account. I of course immediately contacted PayPal to report the problem. They stated at the time for my own safety (Right!) they were going to have to RESTRICT the account..." Uh, if you would have waited 3 or 4 days you would have had your money. Instead, by re-establish account, you more then likely tried to make a new account and use that same bank. Or something else rather stupid. Of course PayPal has to investegate this. |

Again, It was for this persons own saftly. If he bank account was in use by another person, than he could have been totally whiped out. |
"Can PayPal hold my money with no explanation? The answer is YES.
Can PayPal freeze my account for no reason? The answer is YES. Can PayPal take money out of my account without my knowledge? The answer is YES." This is believe it or not no different from any bank. I know plenty of people, along with myself that use paypal, and my college mate actualy gets his part time job salary by it. I've never had a problem with any of it. |
