Please tell me why a dead author of bad fiction books with implausible scenarios has any reason to be part of the modern political process.

Rand's books were widely panned by literary critics of her day, and the only reason why it isn't long forgotten is that it excuses extreme greed and selfishness.

"Money is the barometer of a society's virtue." - Ayn Rand.

"This is not a novel to be tossed aside lightly. It should be thrown with great force" Dorothy Parker on Ayn Rand's fourth book.

It's laughable that Atlas Shrugged, a book slightly more plausable than Harry Potter (By the way, Rowling made much more money as an author than Rand, guess she's "Better") gets so much attention.

I've only read Atlas shrugged, minus most of the galt speech, but if somebody can give me a reason why I shouldn't treat her books like a published fanfiction, feel free to tell me.
Ayn rand is one of the worst psychopaths to ever grace the book publishing industry. Publishing a book that encourages selfishness and darwinism in modern society is beyond immoral. Anybody who takes her seriously is completly out of touch with reality and quite frankly ethically questionable. I hope that anybody who considers themselves an objectivist all end up quarentined on an island to see how great society would really be for a group of self-entitled, immoral and ironically irrational people occupied it. Everybody would eventually starve or kill each other because they are too socially inept to trust others or help each other.
Also, two of the main characters of Atlas Shrugged are Mary Sue archetypes. Not one, but friggin' two!
What point is there to living if Objectivism is your creed? Think about that, how miserable an existance would life be if that is what you live by. The only feeling of accomplishment and happiness I get is from being involved with others and doing things for others. Being an antisocial psychopath does not appeal to me at all, and its far from logical.

Plus hey, extra luls.

It's not impossible to get in a whole you can't dig yourself out of.

Silkwizard is a complete idiot, I would post this there but I'm banned from his blog, I'm assuming because I make too much sense. He is someone who likes to follow media trends, and if the common republican/blind-eye media trend changes, so will he. If you type in "rand" in his search box you will see that he has quoted rand on more than one occasion.

*But, that's only the small part of what I agree with. I have never read anything of Ayn Rands, I have better things to do like stare at walls or watch cars pass by.
