A modern science-fantasy. I always prefer science-fantasies; those who can delve into the realm of a mixture of the two genres and manage to make anything out of it, let alone a game, is an amazing crafter of the word and visuals of a game itself.
Oh, and I forgot to mention, once I get a handle on this Byond code (I've just started here, my specialty is writing and Actionscript) I will be making a mature, modern science fantasy online game. Good idea? If it isn't I'll just scrap it, I'm not too sure how the community here accepts very original ideas.

I Like steampunk Rpgs of which there are very few, the idea of carrying on neglected ideas of the past is fascinating, to me at least

Science Fiction/ Midieval Fantasy. This would be a Star Ocean type game. I rather enjoyed the idea of traveling through space in a science fiction atmosphere, yet having the undeveloped planets with a midieval/ fantasy feel to them.

I'd love to see one such game. I'm always lurking the BYOND RPG section with disappointment. All of the good games are no more, either that or they are simply never hosted. After BYOND anime rolled around, BYOND RPG died. Save for us few dedicated denizens. I'm sure I could round up players for one such a game. |
What about pre-industrial 19th century America with steampunk and medieval/fantasy elements?

Considering I've worked a couple years on Hazordhu, which is pretty much set in the medieval times but doesn't have an exact storyline, I've gotta say I like medieval/fantasy. Of course, there are elves and orcs to play as.
Hunt Bux(deer), Sty(sheep), or escape from Rars(bears)... Plant crops like Kurn, Puteta, Karet, Phluf(cotton), Huff(tobacco). Made-up names like that do add a bit of flavor and fantasy to it. Even the season names are their own. Harvestfall, Shiverstide, Frostmelt, Bloomstide. And now I'm starting to sound like I'm advertising. Fantasy aspects like made-up names are cool. The developers can add their own special aspects to the game. This uniqueness sometimes attracts players interested in that kind of stuff. Of course, Hazordhu isn't exactly the most popular game out there, but eh. |
Despite the Fact alot of people Prefer medevil fantasy (which I dont blame them because its really fun), Id say Id have to make a modern RPG game, With almost No fantasy elements besides a small bit here and there, I would love to find a game with Modern elements where your character is affected by his charisma, social ability, ect. I don't know about everyone else, but I would love it.

.... A Fallout game would be awesome, similar to what you said. Except the whole world is blown to pieces. o.0 |
I absolutely love post-apoclypse theme with the ruin world. But to be specific, a more survival oriented that alliance is necessary and war is the last thing and any mistake could be perma-death. A real deep hard-core RL, but not without a ligher version of a arcadish type to pull away form the seriousness now and then. Make and scavenge resources to survive and invent weaponry for your community. It take a well submersed and actively influenced maintainer to create such a beauty. |3

I think he means without the buildings and being inside. Just water and you. I think that would be pretty cool.
