In theory, next week's post should be a special occasion. However, I have nothing interesting planned. Perhaps I should leave it blank as an art piece. Maybe I could say it's a memorial of all of the games that were mentioned and never released. ;)

  • Vermolius is still working on the single-player modes for Efencea, but it might be a while before we see a release. Meanwhile, Tayoko has finished the graphics for the environment and main units.
  • Tsfreaks has announced that a version of Tower Defense: Clone Wars is available and he has been busy creating updates. I added the game to the guild. He is currently looking for someone to help with testing... Did I just break up a family by sending the kids to juvy? At least the neighbors can sleep safe. The ones still alive anyway. ;)
  • Bakasensei's Age of War is now available for others to download and play. That means I shouldn't have to worry about removing it from the guild anymore. Muhuhahaha!
  • Acebloke lost his job and ran into a couple hosting problems. However, he is still working hard on Wargames. He's running a poll which could result in increased hosting times, announcing a 2-week round between March and April, producing a large update, and looking for someone with a microphone to "do good/corny Politician/Military leader impressions". Now might be a good time to subscribe.
  • GauHelldragon made at least one update to Robo Rally. Sound effects were added. Before that, there were updates to AI, new icons, and some bug fixes.
  • Jeff8500 released an update to Real Time Defense. Changes include bug fixes, better icon caching, sound effects, difficulty, and a black elf that does melee damage. More details are available on the hub page.
  • Adam753 released an update to Defender with bug fixes and the beginning of a graphical update. A bug involving repeating waves was also introduced, but he "managed to do something about it". I'm curious about what that something is, but I'm more curious about the partners he implies by saying "we have been working furiously". Should I be mentioning others in these updates? Who are they?
  • Rushin has been updating Abra's Castle, but he has yet to release the changes outside of privately owned servers. I entered one. It was easy to tell that the graphics were different, but I seem to remember some of them from a prior, limited release. Meanwhile, Rushin was rebooting and testing something, but I didn't quite understand what it was.

Fortunately, he made a post in Castle's forum. The focus appears to be on adding a Priest class. New waves, dark versions of enemies, and anti-hack improvements are also included.
  • D4RK3 54B3R commented, "I've got combat implemented and balanced in Conquest. I'm going to start work on Social Dynamics, Technologies, and Industries pretty soon."
  • I've been taking too long to finish Gears & Peers and I just found a fix for the member benefits in all of my games. Naturally I... worked on CSS that doesn't seem to work in Internet Explorer and redesigned the sequel to Wrangle And Warp. *sigh* Would it help if I said my priorities can be bought?

I didn't have a video planned for this week, but I really like this song despite not being a religious sort myself.

Got news? You see kids, back when I was young there was this band called Bon Jovi and...
Bon Jovi = Kickass.

Anyways, for next week's post I believe you should use it as a memorial and describe feedback about Tech Tree, and also a look back at the most talked about topics inside the tech tree. Also could come up with something slightly more interesting regarding the Tech Tree's memorial like perhaps a new feature to do it or a new twist and announce it then?

Congratulations to you, the guild, and the people who contribute to it. This has always been an interesting read for me.
If only the hosts would come! And why is it that I feel hated from each annoucement you make? xD
I believe you deserve a hand ACWraith. :) Tech Tree has become a staple in mine and many other BYOND member's thursday nights. Cheers!
Congratulations, AC. ATTT is what makes BYOND Stategy my favorite guild on BYOND. (Along with the fact that the games are awesome.)
Lol... Bon Jovi rocks hard... in my pants.
@Bakasensei: There's no hatred towards you intended. I just get upset at myself when I don't strictly follow the policy of making sure games are available to players. I have no means of checking for servers that I missed so I can't act responsibly when I give games some leeway. Nobody calls me on it, but it's a gray area.
Sorry I don't have anymore screenshots to show for Conquest.

There'll be some after I implement a world economy system. :]

I find I'm that way with a band called Live. I'm not religious at all, I just like the sound of their music.
Kids are OK and the neighbors... well, we shall see. ;)

The experiences gained on releasing this seemingly little project were invaluable. I still have a little ways to go (tweaks and feature requests) but it's in pretty good shape.

Trying to design a decent game in under a month is certainly challenging but well worth it. I think this one took me around 30-35 days of dedication. It cost me a fair amount of my life though. I didn't play a single other game during that time. :| I think I may have broken my addiction... at least temporarily.

You know, Bon Jovi is still pretty popular. >.>
@Tiberath: The song I referenced in the title is old though. ;)
