Australia prevents sale of World of Warcraft and other MMOs :

HOLY CRAP. I don't know whether to cry or laugh. I don't get the idea behind this though, I could get violent games - but....WoW? MMO's? Are Australian kids getting fat or something?

edit: I don't play WoW or any MMO really, but geez, that's just harsh.
Wow...that is just....yikes..

Poor kids.
Australia's government is also trying to filter the internet. This is not surprising.
Maybe now they'll go outside and dance around campfires and tame kangaroos like god intended.
I'd always wanted to move out to Australia, I think I'll stay put for the time being...
Yet another good reason to move to Australia.
good riddance.
by green day.
And thus, the Fascist Australians have been appeased.
Now if only the U.S could get rid of games like WoW and runescape....
This is a little more complicated than it sounds. It's not the content or the genre or anything completely retarded, it's the way they've been classified in the past. Basically that 'online content may vary' thing is what's causing the problem. Unrated games aren't allowed to be sold, and this makes them unrated.

I'm still a little sketchy on the whole thing because frankly, gaming journalism is ridiculously one-sided on the subject of censorship and isn't really interesting in reporting anything that wont draw in hits.
Well, I'd say it's a good thing.

Besides, if they're smart enough, they'll realize Blizzard offers streaming and full downloads of the game off their site.
And who can forget Torrents?

They can always use their new internet filters to stop you.
I would prefer if they used the new Death Star instead.
