I'm sure most of everyone on BYOND has heard of this great game. Well since BYOND is known for having great games I think this game type fits the requirements. Me, Max Omega, Norokido-Kun, and hopefully others are making a Left 4 Dead game it will stick with the originality of smart zombies using strategies and such. The game is already underway. We have a spawn system working, weapon system working, we have most of the systems covered we could always use help with coding but mainly iconing me and Norokido are doing all of it so far so please apply, oh and it's also 100% original since even if we did rip most zombie games have retarded zombies that just mindlesly charge and attack this game will have better AI, better coding, more to the turf like ladders, random rooms, hidden rooms and such. For coding just message Max Omega on his site or at [email protected], as for iconing just send me a message. [email protected].

Why not just make it your own zombie apocalypse game? You could make money off it if its original. Just make up your own zombie game with the same features you mentioned and bam, its YOURS.

Left 4 Dead used a mixture between Zombie and the Rabies from 28 Days Later. The Zombies weren't smart, they were just fast. Valve also used proper physics for the movement and such, which is why the zombies ran in leaning arcs instead of just running straight forward when they are on their own. You'll notice that they still run in forward mobs a lot in large groups, but in lesser numbers, they angle themselves to try and run to your side instead of your face.
Don't forget that when a player startles a witch, you have to spawn a boomer somewhere near the group. I have yet to fight a witch without a boomer lurking. |
Why?
The game's good enough, no need to drag it into a 2D port. The only way I could possibly see it working is if it was top-down perspective, and pixel based movement. |

Left 4 Dead was fun as hell. Its a bit short but real fun. It's a casual game, not an RPG. It's supposed to be short so that you can play it over and over again. |

They've made a 2d version of the game. however its really stripped down. The makers mainly wanted a game that was under 4kb. which is impressive enough. |

I was thinking if I had good enough programmers, make it sort've 1st person, as in you can see the character but it's to the right and close up. I've played a demo like this but it delayed like crazy, maybe there is some way to enhance this feature so it doesn't delay so much? I checked the coding and all but the creators had also tried to make it quicker but apparently it was a failed attempt. If not I will make it a birds-eye view style game the only problem is that it would ruin the surprise of the game since you can see hunters for example waiting next to a tree for cover. I dunno. If someone makes this 1st person'ish style coding worth it then that would help the game with the realism part.
