pretty interesting IMO. Wonder what Nintendo is up to after seeing this.
What do you all think?
Honestly, if it's half as good as it's made out to be the only way Sony will have it is if they outbid Microsoft. In which case they've probably over invested in hardware again.
Remember, Sixense approached all the console manufacturers and as well as game developers. This wasn't a secret project where they were working as 2nd party R&D for Sony (although with a name like Sixense I can understand why someone would think that). Everybody knew it was up for grabs. Microsoft may or may not have been interested in the technology itself, but it's pretty clear with the way they're aggressively handling exclusive DLC that they'd be willing to pay a TON just to keep it out of Sony's hands. Failing that they'd just be looking to make sure Sony paid as much as possible for it. |
That looks awesome, maybe that perfect 1v1 sword fighting game I've been waiting for will come out for the PS3.
And I would pwn at it, too, since I'm working on learning how to use a katana-like sword at the moment (I already know a good portion, but there's a lot more still). |

You're forced back onto something like those old webcam fighters where you put your hand in the block zones to block and move your hand/foot quickly in and out of the strike area to attack. Granted the sword would follow in hand and look pretty cool, but without contact it would just be performing movements in time with the game. It would be similar to the difference between Dance Dance Revolution and actual dancing. I spent a lot of time thinking about this back when the Wiimote was announced. Without proper feedback all roads lead to failure. =( |
Nintendo are spending six times more in R&D they ever did before. I think it is too late this generation for this product to have any effect on the market. Also Wii MotionPlus will keep the drive...for a bit more longer.

Interesting, but at this point after seeing what happened with the Wii the whole novelty of motion-controlled games is a gimmick to me. Though, perhaps devs will actually bother if it's on the pstriple.

Im hopeing it comes out and nothing goes wrong with.
