It's been a while since I've had a poll, and the results of my "Battle of the Animations" poll is looking boring.

So I'm going to ask another question. One I've probably asked before, and one no doubt, lots of others have asked before. But still, I'm going to ask it again.

What is your favourite series of Star Trek, if you're old enough to have actually seen any of them.

And if you're so inclined, do explain why you like it.

For me, it's a toss up between Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager. I like them more than the others, but I haven't seen all or enough of either to make an exact judgement. At the moment, I'm leaning towards Voyager. However, The Next Generation does score some points with First Contact, that was a fantastic movie in my opinion.

(For the record, I'm excluding Star Trek: The Animated Series from this poll... Just vote for Star Trek if you wish to vote for it.)
I voted The Next Generation. Although I was basically raised on Voyager, it kinda rambled on for a few too many seasons. It could, and should, have ended at about season 4.

The Next Generation was still airing on a lot of stations, so I did see every episode, just not on first air.

Deep Space Nine seemed more like a bunch of people bored off their minds stuck on a spaceship, looking for drama, than an actual space adventure. My grandparents like DS9 a bunch, but I just couldn't get into it.
Jean-Luc PICARDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!
TNG or GTFO

Also, First Contact was the only good movie.
I voted Enterprise, Voyager is a close second. I never really cared for any of the others except for maybe DSN. TNG and the original series always seemed kind of hacky to me.
KHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNN

If I had to order them, I'd probably go with Voyager, original, TNG, DS9, Enterprise.

I agree with Danial.Beta about DS9 being a soap opera in space, but I didn't care for the newer Enterprise series much at all.

The thing I didn't like about Enterprise was that it was based in a time when most of the technology Trekkies take for granted was new, and it's universe development rather than actual story, which every series does early in its existence. Problem is, all of these things the Enterprise series takes time to break down are things fans already know every detail about and it starts to feel like video time in seventh grade social studies class.
I vote this: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0177789/

YES YES YES!
Enterprise was shit, there's no denying that.

From what I hear, it also doesn't stay in tune with the Star Trek universe as derived by the other TV series and movies.
I never watched Enterprise enough to know just how true to the universe it was, I just know I didn't like it. They tried too hard to emulate Shatner's charm and sordid escapades with Bakula and didn't succeed, and it only got worse from there.
I haven't watched enough Star Trek to vote on this, but I think if I ever got into Star Trek I'd go with the original. From what I can tell it had more of an adventure every week vibe going.
It's odd, I like deep sci-fi universes but I prefer the stories themselves to be pretty shallow.

You watch Futurama, don't you remember "Where no fan has gone before"?

"What episodes had the plot where two characters fought to the death" like, 36, 46, 56 and 77. And he was like "you forgot episode 66!"

That's like, every ten episodes a plot replay. <.<
Deep Space 9 was good, but I went with Next Generation as being more representative of Star Trek's exploration theme (and because it's also a favorite).

I like some of the original movies, but First Contact is probably my favorite... Even with the Borg Queen.
The borg queen appeared in Wolf 359 didn't she?
No, she was retconned in during First Contact and many fans disapproved because the notion of a hierarchy goes against what the Borg were supposed to stand for.
Well, there isn't really a hierarchy there. There's the hive mind, a collective conscience, my first thought is that has to take on some kind of physical representation. Thus -> Borg Queen.
The Borg used distributed processing like a terrorist network or the internet. They would not have built such a unit. They were a faceless terror like zombies.

In First Contact, the Borg Queen was an individual. Apparently, they eventually came up with "The Royal Protocol" for something like what you're talking about though. =)
I LOVE the original series. i dont get to see it much, but what i do see I like. ALWAYS!
ok. I just voted and saw that most voters like NG better thn the original. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE???
Because the original kinda sucks.
Wow, year old zombie revival!
