I've been using a water filter for quite a while now. Now I don't know if it's enough. My town is being told to boil our water while they simultaneously tell us not to worry about it. I guess there's an issue with surface water contaminants and a (possibly unrelated) problem with sewage.
The problems have existed for a while, but my town has not been able to comply with changes in the law. On one hand, this is supposed to mean that the problem is due to a change in the law rather than a change in the water. On the other hand, if the water has not changed then we've been drinking what should have been boiled for quite some time!
O beautiful, for spacious skies,
For amber waves of graaaaain... Shameless ribbing aside, water is definitely going to be a hot conflict item between Canada and the United States some time in the next century. Canada controls a lot of the clean water in North America, and the aquifers in the U.S. are having trouble keeping up with demand. |

Based on this and your voting problem, it sounds like somewhere I don't want to live.
