I sold one of my auctions on the 30th of October. I shipped it the next day. USPS states that the item was delivered on the 5th of November. PayPal is pretending that the status is "shipped" and holding my money. eBay has the nerve to ask for seller fees.

From what I can tell, the problem seems to be a miscommunication between eBay and PayPal. I entered the tracking number into eBay on the 31st in order to mark the item as shipped. I found out later that PayPal did not take the information. I filled the tracking number into the order on PayPal. Now I can't see the tracking number on eBay.

What's really ticking me off is the new PayPal payment holding rules concerning eBay. They don't care if you've always had positive feedback. They care if you've had over a certain quantity of feedback. Combined with their inability to track items, this means that, for the next 60 auctions, I will never see any money until 3 weeks after each sale unless I luck out with some quick, positive feedback. Even then, my auctions could still be affected because I tend to sell videogames and they are considered "high risk". UGH!

Congratulations, PayPal and eBay. You've guaranteed that I won't be able to buy anything through your services before the post offices get clogged with holiday items.

...And you're not getting your frelling seller fees until you give me the money to pay them!
At least it's not Google Checkout, which seems totally designed to rip off the end user. I ordered an item from a shop a while back, but then found that the shop had a ton of negative reviews and basically took money and then never bothered to ship items. I quickly went to cancel my Google Checkout order - only to find I was unable to do so and that I'd have to cancel through the seller, presumably so that Google don't have to arbitrate disputes.
However, since I'd paid through google checkout the seller only had a google checkout record of my sale - I'd have to contact them directly to get the transaction removed. I subsequently emailed them to see if they were actually processing the order, and 11 months later I still have an open order on there and no response from the seller. Luckily they never took my money either, but I'm still pretty concerned that the order hasn't timed out and that the seller could take my money at any time and I wouldn't be able to do anything about it.
I bought an xbox360 off of ebay and the guy never shipped it. Luckily paypal gave me my money back though, even if it did take 30 days, I have nothing against them.
I'll stick with craigslist.
I gave up on Paypal and eBay a long time ago. I don't buy games from them any more. If they were trying to drive an enterprise into the ground, they did a bang-up job.
It's probably safer to buy games now than it was before. It's just that their new distrust of sellers makes me far less eager to sell things.
