Well, Im sure alot of you really could care less about the things I create. However, for the small group of people(hi mom) that do care, I am going to go ahead and tell everyone about something I've discovered.
Alright, well. Im sure just about every intermediate programmer(more so DM) knows about world.Export(). However, did you know that world.Export is effected by a router/firewall? That's right. If you have a router and, or firewall. It seems asthough world.Export() will not be excepted in the world.Topic() section. This of course was a let down to me(I may had wanted to start up a little server with all of the savefiles on it XD).
However, I thought of something that could prove to be somewhat useful. Alright, I don't know about alot of you but I have found from personal experience that alot of BYONDer's really arn't too bright. This is fine and dandy. Really it is. However, I can't help but dislike it when my game's hub is all cluttered up with servers that you can't even join. It really does get irritating.
So, in discovering that world.Topic() will only recieve things if your server also allows players. I developed a system that will check to see if people can join the server once a port is established. If the answer to that question is no, then the server is set to invisible(in hopes of the hub not seeing it) and then crashed. Pretty nifty right?

tl;dr Umm, honestly... Truely... I am a senior in high school and I dont really know how. I believe it just has to do with a slight change in topic. However, it's kind of hard to destinguish the transition when your randomly typing.. If you could explain paragraphing just a little perhaps I could give it a try? Sadly, I am being serious >.<... |

Breaking up the main ideas into chunks, so it's not one big glob of text. |

So basicly in order to do this I would have to go over what I've written if I havn't already wrote it? Sounds easy enough. I will honestly try to continue this practice through-out my future blogs. Thanks for the honesty and then thanks some more for the corrections. It might make me appear to be a better writer ^_^. Anywho, if you wouldn't mind replying to this and telling me what you think it would be a great help. I think I just about got this easy practice. Thanks again. |
I think it would be a useful server management tool, but I have yet to look at the code. If you want an honest opinion (codewise), you'd have to ask someone such as Hiead, Fizz, or such.

Learn to use paragraphs, for the sake of the eyes.
