Does main.icon give the window it's own icon in the task bar etc. or something else?

I'm willing to bet that means you can replace the BYOND icon on the top left of the window with your own custom one.

However, it doesn't say if the icon is limited to a .ico, which I imagine it is.

Yeah, that's exactly what I thought. I'll have to look up how to make .ico files, anyway, for the .exe feature BYOND has.
Simply have a 24-bit image file saved with the extension .ico

It works for me (though it was originally 24-bit bmp, not sure if renaming a png or other formats will make it work...)
