Hurrah! No DLL override needed!
Now we only have a few more bugs fixed.
But at least this fixes a lot more games.

Starting my virtual 8.10 right now, let's see how it works. I know they made some good changes in the latest release.
|
I'm going to start updating the AppDB a bit more for this newer WINE release, to see what bugs are left.
|
I'm going to report that the ole32 login bug is fixed, it seems to be on mine. I still have Dreamseeker crashing when it entered a game though, so any test data would still be rated garbage.

Will you answer my friend, he made a post on the forums, but no one has replied to it. I am saying this here since he isn't online, and I want to delete the post he made on my blog.

I am on 1.1.4, and I am using no DLL overrides. Believe me, this has been a longstanding problem. The issue (funnily enough) is Dreamseeker dies gracefully, giving me a Illegal Access message box. This makes finding a proper backtrace to send to WINE a bit tricky.

This may be part due to you using Gentoo Linux, no one using Ubuntu is having this problem.

Flippin' sweet. It worked! It was slow as sin, but I was able to launch LRS from a fresh copy of WINE with the only tweak being turning off graphic acceleration. There was still about a one second delay on keystrokes, but I guess beggars can't be choosers.
Chatters, however, crashes on me the second I login. I don't think there are any icons in the text box, so it is likely an interface object. I'll take a look tomorrow if I have the time. |
I made a demo displaying all of the Interface objects, so I can only assume it's a \icon being used somewhere.
Of course running in software mode is going to be a tad slower, but it works perfect on my (high end) computer. :D Did Tom take out OpenGL yet? |
As long as OpenGL works, there is no need to worry about getting DirectX to work.

Just put "graphics-hwdriver gl" in your seeker.txt file and see if it works. Where is the seeker.txt file supposed to be? |
