Well I never learned to drive stick

Note: I'm guessing 'drive stick' is gear stick?

And thats it... I ment it all in good fun cause she's been a good friend of mine for many years.

But yeah, the 'drive stick' question is serious, cause she had to go out before I got a chance to ask her.
=| I thought automatic was just in computer games.

"Drive stick" or "drive a stick" is a pretty common shorthand for "drive a car equipped with a shift stick" -- i.e., manual transmission.
Elation:

Yup, they make cars in real life with Automatic transmissions... They're easier to drive (no pesky shifting to worry about), but I believe they lose some "kick" from their manual brethren, and of course there's just another more complicated system to go bad (they need more parts in the transmissions, like speed/RPM sensors to know when to change gears, etc)...

Our car is an automatic, and it's currently having some problem or other with one of those sensors (it's not downshifting properly from the higher gears when you come to a quick stop, so when you get going again, you end up chugging and revving the engine until you get back to speed)...lol

Of course, even automatic cars have a gear shift... You still need to manually put it in Park, Neutral, Reverse, and Drive (and they usually even have things like "Drive 2" and "Drive 3" for hill climbing and stuff)

But the average gear changing that you'd normally do during regular driving is all handled for you by the system...
naaah not all americans are noobs theres me in this case i drive stick cuz its the only way to get real speed auto is for pussy fags and girls
<__< Its only a rare few people in England that drive automatic's, they're far more expensive than manual's... Like 20% to 30% more, and most car's made here are manuals...
Personally I think in a car stuff like that should be manual, since things might go wrong- you could end up like, stalling on the motorway. At least if it's manual you know who to blame.
American's are just wierd all around, they seem to do everything backwards, even profer cars the wrong way around, drive on the wrong side of the road, etc, when I play an American game, I always drive on the left... <__< and swear at the other cars in the game for being on the wrong side of the road, I do that on GTA Vice City and San Adreas too <__<
At least I don't constantly aggravate people by putting apostrophes in unnecessary places.
You have no place to comment on that, and quite frankly, you just annoied me, prohaps you should take into account I'm Dyslexic.
I'm American. Who the hell cares which side of the road we (or you) drive on, as long as its agreed upon and everyone knows to stay on that side?

...and I drive a manual as well. I hate automatics. Like it was said before, its just another thing to screw up in the long run. You have a lot less control over the power of the car as well.
Indeed, I was only commenting on how strange it must seem to people over here.
