Add a option for e-mail address to the new post page of Classified Ads forum & make a link to open a new e-mail like on Craigslist
or make the link open the pager

As an interim solution, click on their name on the left, type a message in the box and press send.

Using the reply box just makes it a private conversation. Is there something wrong with this method?
