One of the few things I actually like about NBC's coverage of the Olympics (as opposed to the CBS coverage of yesteryear) is their use of music. Although to be fair, NBC Sports has backed away somewhat from their usual commitment to incompetence this year.

In particular, one theme you'll hear often is the theme to the greatest TV show of all time: The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. (For cordiality's sake, I tip my hat and shake hands with anyone who would rather reserve that mantle for Farscape or Firefly.)

Another theme I heard last night is one I've heard in a few other places as well. It showed up in one theatrical trailer for Cinderella Man and it's appeared elsewhere. The piece in question is House Atreides, the main title theme for the Children of Dune miniseries: a stirring, truly amazing composition. The soundtrack to that miniseries is one of the few soundtracks I own, because of its singular brilliance.

Obviously these aren't the only great pieces of music ever to escape a cult classic and appear "in the wild". What are some others you've heard?
Since YouTube is often great for illegal (albeit low-quality) exhibition of various songs...
