OMG, anytime you have a platform that isn't Turing-complete, you are going to have an infinite number of feature requests. The purpose of that forum isn't to say "we plan on doing all of this"; it's to get a pulse on the community and factor that into future developments. Things like the icon improvements and hard-coded pixel-movement are examples of such things.
Bug fixes are more important and we do our best to stay on top of those-- some of the bugs are simply not important enough to invest large amounts of time at this moment, and others we haven't gotten around to. I do think that, for all that it does, BYOND is remarkably stable.
I believe a two-man team can maintain this project, because it has for some time. Of course I'd like more help, but going the freebie volunteer route is just not something I'm interested in doing (and frankly-- and this isn't meant to be an insult-- I don't think very many users here could contribute to this software without a tremendous amount of guidance). If we make enough money where I can hire more qualified people, then I will.
One of the reasons we are focusing on the standalone installer system is to have it work with some games that are capable of generating shared income for us. In other words, often our decisions have to be driven by the financial consequences-- something users never factor in when making requests.

The reason people don't respect that is because frankly it doesn't deserve respect. How much time was lost making all these website changes? And the ones before that? And the ones before that?
You have 16 pages of unresolved feature requests. Let me state that another way: There are 800 unresolved feature requests. And on top of that, while I can't necessarily fault you for unverified bugs, there are two dozen verified bugs, more than fifty bugs you haven't classified yet, and 140 bugs you had to put off.
I really don't mean to be rude, Tom, but do you not see how absurd this is? Why do you believe a two man team is capable of maintaining this project? There are nearly five thousand people using it at this very second!
And I'm not saying the website updates aren't necessary or even important, because they are. But the point is you don't have the manpower to take care of it all.
