Poll: Which do you like better or believe is best?

Well I've heard some people completely dropping Halo in favor of Call of Duty 4 and recently one person who begged to differ. Neither I have played more than a hour max since I don't own a system capable of playing them but anyways, I'd like to see the general consensus on Byond.

If you want a real way to choose, go take a look at gamebattles. The site that MLG favors for competitive gaming, the top arena was always Halo 3. That is until Call of Duty 4 came out, now Call of Duty 4 has the largest arena with 15,000 teams playing against each other, that's not including the multiple ladders, so I could safely estimate around 40,000 teams overall.

I do love halo, and the Series is great....but CoD4 is just a better game. I can't really put my finger on it as to why, but I've played both, and it just seemed...better.

I prefer Halo 3 I don't really like Call of Duty 4 cause it's realistic and I don't play games for realism, I love how Halo has neat weapons fun gameplay and that spacey theme.

I play more Call of Duty 4 than Halo 3 but they're both excellent games. My decision ultimately came down to two factors, challenges and friends. Most of my friends chose PS2 last gen, so they were sick of Halo long before 3 came out.
Challenges/XP give you a reason to play. If you don't know basically you start off at level 1 and work your way to level 55 (and after you get to level 55 you can restart). You get XP for pretty much everything you do when playing ranked. The game also issues challenges that award bonus XP. Some of them are simple, kill X enemies with Y weapon, some of them are just for fun, kill someone with a grenade without throwing it. The only thing some people dislike about this is that you don't start out with all the guns. You unlock them at each level. Personally I like that I don't get my P90 straight away. That plus challenges mean I've used pretty much every gun in the game for an extended period of time. Perks mix things up a bit too, although a lot of the time you'll encounter the same perks being used over and over. I hate having to say this after the huge marketing campaign, but Halo 3 is under-rated. People just blow it off as another Halo, which it is, but in terms of features it can't be beat. Four player co-op, the vehicles, the weapons, the match-making ranking, all great features implemented really well. The only things it doesn't have are challenges/XP and kill cam (although if you want you can replay it all in the video editor later). | |
IGN.com always does a check-up on the game that has the most people playing online and Call of Duty 4 has always beat out everybody, with the exception of the first few weeks that GTAIV came out.
