What's been up with me.

Well it's been a while so I figure I'll throw BYOND members an update as to what's been going on with me in the past few months.

  • I dyed my hair and eyebrows dark blue... because I can
  • My girlfriend of 4 years (and mother of my daughter) randomly left me for some dude she's been writing to in prison
  • FOL Files are completely gone, all traces were on my hard drive which fried and my web server which deleted my junk due to a month of inability to pay.
  • I lost my last job due to my ex girlfriend, but recently picked one up that is alot better.
  • I currently have two small bills now, opposed to supporting a family... That's a huge weight off my shoulders.
  • I tried TGI-Fridays' "Fried mac n cheese" and felt like I was gonna die of cardiac arrest... never again.
  • My daughter can speak to me in sentences now... And I can't get her to stop talking... lol
  • I've seen every episode of Smallville, Family guy and The Simpsons waiting for this place to get cable and internet.
  • I lost a good 30 lbs.
  • I actually worked at a car wash for 3 weeks waiting for this job I am at now. I was officially lowest on the employment food chain.
  • I plan on starting college in the winter.
  • Havn't made a new youtube video or cartoon in many months... that has to happen soon.
  • The employees at the local bar know me and my friends by name now due to their wing night we attend weekly.


And that's about it, I have so much inspiration to continue FoL but losing everything can be a real focus killer... Given I havn't had a chance to do alot with it in the last few months due to drama in my life financially and emotionally (including getting rabies), I still tried to pick at it. The last month was rough though, but maybe this is a chance to start over everything (including my awesome game ideas).

Oh and don't ever get rabies, even though I was vaccinated I became anti-social (even with my family), so sensitive to sunlight I had to wear high SPF sunscreen and sunglasses at work, and life in general felt like an uncomfortable blur... But oh well at least I have a story to tell to the grandkids someday, lol.

That's me, so how has BYOND been?

BYOND's been fine. Masterdan has had no chances to extort the ultimate lulz, mainly due to the great effort of our fellow narutards keeping him busy down at his little ninja training facility.

Moral support is all that is needed for Fol (No donations necessary, unless it's finished and I'd need a good server)... The programming will be easy, programming is like legos... if you destroy it you can usually remake it better.

Graphics are gonna be difficult though, I really liked where they were going.

:(, wow okay so sorry to hear thats whats been going on with your end. Uhm, and while your life problems are much more alarming than the FOL news, that still is incredibly disappointing to me (/greedy), im surprised your still up for working on the project considering you lost everything, I would be more than a little discouraged so you know i can see you got that need to get your idea put into game form so you know i encourage you to do that and im sure youll have some good news to post in the future.


On Byond's end.. its pretty stale, not only in terms of actual progress of the byond engine slowing down recently but developers seem to be getting lazier en masse (myself included) and even ridiculous dramatic spectacles have been lackluster at best.

Gah, you lost the source for FoL? Shame on thee! Back-up, back-up, back-up!

I'd try and sympathize with you, but you might become emo, so I'll show restraint. We have enough of those. :-(

I did a little digging and found you a link to a topic which contains some of your work on the graphics. Perhaps you could rebuild off of them.

Glad you're doing OK (for the most part... you're right, having rabies is a pretty good story to have). If you're ever in Akron, stop by the Waterloo restaurant and enjoy the Brocc-o-Roni (I think that's what it's called). It's wedges of mac-and-cheese with broccoli added, breaded and deep-fried and topped with marinara sauce. Not bad at all!
