Oh my gosh, speech balloons. I took that library and ran with it. The characters were a bit too big and messy for my liking, so I made some of my own. I also made it automatically resize the speech balloons based on how much text you have. I also added a "viewers" list and turned the balloons into an image so I can pick who gets to see it. This is especially useful for my other two examples: If you can't understand a mob, it's speech appears as random symbols, if you have telepathy with a mob, such as a summoned creature, it appears as thoughts. I also included a sneak peak at the combat skill icons. All the ones shown there are done and work in-game. Fighter-type mobs are going to be a lot more fun now. I still need to bind the number keys to my quickslots. I THINK I resolved the huge lag issue that happened during this weekend's hosting. I know I solved a number of other issues that were popping up, the portrait issue still comes up now and then, hopefully SOMEONE will notice my post, I was able to narrow down the exact problem, as well as with the link proc. Oh well, we can all HOPE for 4.0.
I haven't tried Maeva yet, but I must say that the game looks amazing! I can't even believe you can do some of these things with BYOND. Nice work!
I have also never played it. But now I have seen screen shots of it and it looks amazing. Cant wait to play it.

You got props from Tom! That's great, DerDragon. I have a few words to put in while you're still thinking about the bubbles:

1. Give me an option to disable them! Running through a crowded marketplace with every merchant's bubble obscuring the screen is going to be a whole lot of no fun.

2. If two people stand just next to each other and they each say something, do the speech bubbles move so that the text is fully visible?

3. When do you host Maeva, again? I've never seen it hosted!
Tom is the bomb. As for disabling the bubbles altogether... I think I should have some sort of "trivial" speech bubbles, that can be disabled, but others that aren't. I should probably come up with something for two people standing next to each other. I've done a lot with moving my text and bubbles around, and resizing them, I should be able to work that out, too. Hehe, honestly, with so many people talking at once, realistically, you probably wouldn't be heard, but I guess it depends on who you're listening to, not who's farthest south :). I host Maeva late Friday and Saturday nights. It's just open mutliplayer testing basically, but if you want a sneak peak, that's when to get it.
bleeegh... I've been trying again and again to create a character... but no luck. I make one and it doesn't appear on meh main menu.... afiahohaochacas
