I love the BYOND compiler, don't get me wrong...I love it more then my C++/Java compilers, it's easy to use, very good on highlighting, it's just perfect...
But why not more? Why not add variety to our lives? I understand that as BYOND is updated, and when it's updated you are given a new Dream Maker aswell...but this is one thing JAVA did right...the JDK is downloaded and can be updated in the compilers aswell...
This is just a thought of course...this could also run with the thought...why not another BYOND Mapping program? I understand icons can be done in other things so I won't get into that....
Just a thought of course, please, no flaming/trolling.

Because nobody ever finishes them when they start them.

It's completely possible for people to make what you're asking for, and a couple have started, but never finished. Making your own DM compiler or map editor is just a matter of making the program for it.

I see little use for a new compiler. What's it gonna do, save you 5 seconds? What I really want to see is a new IDE, which is much easier to make than a compiler and much more useful right now.
