In my opinion, this is another one of those cool "concept but poor execution" type movies. What happens is pretty cool (at least to me) but is shown pretty badly on screen with crappy acting; which is a rare complaint but pretty annoying. Now if you want to know what "happened" saving you some precious cash, highlight below spoiler. But meh, see it for yourself and form your own opinion anyways.
Spoiler:
Plants were releasing toxins as a self defense mechanism that targeted and made humans kill themselves.

What did you honestly expect? It was by Shyamalan.

Oh, wow. His twists have been getting worse and worse. Soon he's going to make Ed Wood look like Quentin Tarantino, I swear.

I saw the start of the trailer with the 'we just have to accept there are things beyond our control' and all the people randomly dieing and stuff and I was like 'hey cool someone's making a The Last Stand movie' and then I saw the rest of the trailer and that hope was annihilated.

Yea ure right about the good concept. poor execution part but they didn't even show a cause or solution. Why were the trees releasing toxins as a self defense mechanism. What did the humans do? Why is wind a sign of this? Why was it 1 day long?
