Just read the article and look at the accompanying video. I've said all I can.
Yeah, hopefully the theoretical crash doesn't happen to damage any of those blinking lights. And, y'know, hopefully the thing wouldn't just die after reassembly on Mars. :P
The future is now :o
Pft, what good is a robot if it doesn't know how to self destruct on its own. It needed a human to kick it ... how weak.
Hiead: It's a prototype. I'm sure they'd improve quite a few things before sending it to Mars.
Iron Giant, you don't have to be a gun! ;)

Exactly what I was thinking when I watched that video. The parts moving on their own reminded me so badly of the ending of Iron Giant.
They could perfect it to the point where that robot could do a job a man can't or wouldn't do.
Okay, that was fucking cool. But even with a modular robot probe, I doubt it'd survive an impact on Mars.
They could just make it more sturdy, then ya wouldn't have to reassemble it. Cool nonetheless...

Oh, I'm sure making it more sturdy is going to help if it crashes from the upper atmosphere.
It's gonna be ripped to bits, but yeah go for it :o
