Could this be helpful in solving that nasty browser bug once and for all?
You have to make ole32.dll only specific to BYOND.exe, if you make it global, it crashes DreamSeeker.

I copied ole32.dll into the wine system32 folder and did the override for BYOND.exe only. It didn't work; DS doesn't even load. ...which doesn't even make sense. Why are you supposed to copy over the WINE version of ole32.dll in order to override it for a single program? Yes I know about "configure WINE"; it still doesn't make sense, since the original gets copied over. How is DS supposed to use the unaltered ole32.dll when it no longer exists? After that I downloaded winetricks and started messing around at random. Because honestly I don't care how big of a hammer I need to smash WINE with in order for BYOND to work. BYOND is the ONLY reason I don't use Linux exclusively. |
Set it as builtin for dreamseeker.
Try to load BYOND in a terminal and paste here the backtrace of when DS crashes. |
overriding ole32.dll makes the pager work
downloaded winetricks
sh winetricks allfonts allcodecs fakeie6 win2k
DreamSeeker doesn't even pop up when I join games via pager (same as before).
edit: also tried riched20, riched30, and gecko
