Ultima Online is fun, but its also like 7 years old.
|
- Planet side is a FPS MMORPG
- There is always Ragnarok Online the classic.. - Half-life 2, it's not an mmorpg but it's worth it - Rose Online (Free Beta Test) - Dark Age of Camelot I have played many more but I can't think of them right now, your best resource for finding a game is www.mmorpg.com |
Freelancer? Eh. The singleplayer plot-driven bit was okay, but the "freeform" element quickly gets boring. It's all static and the missions are blatantly pre-generated. Blatantly, I tell you! They're all the same! (Go to X, kill Y, with occasional revolutionary variations such as Go to X, kill Y, go to Z, kill more Y. Woohoo.)

I tried Ultima Online too... The game was fun several years ago WHEN PEOPLE PLAYED. ...... >.>
I tried almost every server I could access, and usually never saw a single person. The most people I saw on one server at a time was 3, counting myself. I despise Rose Online. Too many reasons to list. HL2 sounds like a good idea, I remember when my brother tried the demo...looked pretty awesome. Uber grafix. Freelancer is a no-no. I hate space games. They're always more complicated than making an RL space station, and everything is just so vast and pointless and boring. Blegh. I'll take a peek at DAoC and RO. DAoC is old, though, and RO looks deceiving. My brother was dumb enough to waste many many hours of his live to try and pirate a server of RO, and he said he got bored of the game fast. |
Money issue eh? How can you pay for subscriptions if you have no money! :P
Just for a warning. Guild Wars is -NOT- a regular MMORPG. It's more like a Massive Multiplayer Online Action cum Role Play elements game. It's a lot of fun (I think so anyway) and puts a lot of value on strategy and inter-player co-operation and competition. |
Wow, the unwashed plebian masses sure aren't up on their Latin, are they?
If you like UO, try ABCUO.com. It's a fairly populated server. But you can find a crapload of free UO servers at http://www.gamesites200.com/ultimaonline/ . |
