I have a question...Is it okay to have a Quad IDE Cable (Two for the IDE Hard drives, one for the DVD Drive and the remaining goes into the motherboard)?
IDE cables are finicky. I won't pretend to be an expert, but as far as I can tell it goes something like this- if one device on a given IDE cable is reading/writing, then the other'll have to wait until it's done.

You'll have to design around it, coupling certain components with others to provide optimum speed for whatever you'll be doing. Or just use more IDE cables.

Go for a SATA optical drive...highly recommended....and for an HDD I can get.
