Ok... I have played this game for quite a while, but I do not play anymore.
Let's face it, the only way to get good in this game is to lose your social life and go mad. It is very difficult to level (non afk training system, which is understandable) but all you do is the same damn thing for training.
Also, your power really depends on how much time you have to devote to the game, not much on your skill, an example, I made it to hollow (WOO!) and got to level 100 (after many long hours) then went to sleep, I wake up and go to school, then my friend who stayed up late at night and didnt go to school, and when I got home he was level 350, this applies to many byond games but this just doesn't feel right.
Now for the part of the game that really screws you over that makes people cry and gives them suicidal thoughts. There is basically a very low percent chance you actually get what you want in the end. The only two races that CAN'T screw you over is the Sado race (power human) and the Inoue race (defensive/healing human) The main reason I quit the game for good is because, I recreated twice to get hollow, then I got ALL THE WAY to level 1250, did the RP crap with the Aizen figure, got the exact opposite of what I wanted, and just left. I know people get screwed over like this a lot. Alright that was a long introduction time for the actual game...
Gameplay 4- This game is very fun AFTER all the training and IF you get what you want. Maybe if the staff of this game made the training more fun, then the gameplay would go to a 9 or 10.
Presentation 9- It looks fairly nice in the begining, nice title screens, and the graphics are pretty good, oh and its not a rip (unlike 90% of bleach games on byond, but this goes in the originality section, I suppose)
Originality 6- I won't base this on that its based off an anime, so I gave this a six because the training system, logs? Sparring? Standing still rei training clicking arrows? They could have came up with something better than this. However they worked nicely to give sword releases without final releases a custom one (whether they are just a stat boost or some extra moves)
Overall N/A- I dont know whether to rate this or not, depends on how you feel of spending so many hours on this one game, and I dont want to put my personal opinion in this (cause then I would give it a very low one =P) I really want the staff to read so they might get some ideas to make this game much better.
An extra note- I know making random shikais will be so not everyone chooses the same thing, but seriously, at least make it so you cant get the ones you dont want... And take out this 75% 50% chance of getting blank crap... Please comment and try to prove me wrong... If you can...

The training is a hell of a lot more interactive then leaving a macro to punch a training dummy for hours..

Not only do I have to punch a log for endless hours, but everytime I punch it I have to walk around to the other side of it and punch that side. Which might not have been so bad... If there wasn't so much lag it took a whole god damn minute to go round to the other side of the log and punch it. Rather than making the training system "interactive" and "fun" it only makes it EVEN slower and a hell of a lot more tedious. |

Yes this game would be better if there was like, mini games for training certain stats, or something like that, I just know that NOBODY actually likes this training

A lot of this sounds like bitter crying of someone who couldn't afford to train as much. Dont get me wrong I'm no fan of the training but to shoot down the gameplay so much over that is kinda immature.

Yes, but the problem is you can't even get to the "gameplay" without going through the boring training. |

Oh so true, its a bitter crying from me and every other person that actually trains in las noches. The game would be much more popular (it is very popular as it is) if training was better, my three best friends that played byond played this game until the next wipe and didnt have any patience to train again, there goes 3 more member ranks |

Meah I suppose but you gotta give a little to get a lot. Being able to see things that will kill you in one hit is a lot? |
While I respect your opinion, this review is reviewing BLN as if it were a PVP game. I would have to say this review is therefore a bit flawed.
Though, I would say that your points with our old training system are true. Even with our new one we are having some problems, especially because several impatient players have tried to find flaws in order to rush us through updates before we can perfect it. Though, as Shadow Seraph said, a 4 for gameplay purely because of training was a little overkill. |

I wouldnt say it was harsh, training is the blood of the game, it is absolutely required for the game to progress, so if it is seriously flawed then of course it will hurt the entire game seriously. |
Well what about after all of the training is done? The biggest flaw of the BYOND reviewing system in general is that it is seldom for reviewers to look past the initial experiences a game presents and discuss the game in full.
Specifically, in the context of this review, you dwell far too much on the training and what happens when your character doesn't turn out, and you completely ignore any other gameplay factors. I think your review in its current state is a good start. However because you focus too much on the superficial parts of BLN, and because you only discuss factors of the game that you do not like, this review is nothing short of unfair and bias. |
Dude, you don't like the training system so your going to bash the overall game play? Seriously if you don't like this kinda game don't bother reviewing it. That woulda been like a Horror Movie lover watching Scary Movie expecting a horror movie and writing a horrible review of it cause it was a comedy despite the fact they aren't naturally going to like a comedy... Yeah weird comparrison but take it for what you will.

Hm? Yes I focused on all the negatives. Thats the point of this review, to point out the major negative points so an admin of BLN will realize how to make this game better. I explained this game is very fun, assuming you spent two weeks trying to get a certain character and perhaps getting the 5% chance you actually got what you want, then yeah have a ball. What about the other 95% of people who are playing this game and could have so much more fun with a better training system and a better chance of knowing what your getting so you absolutely know the training is going to be worth while

You're horribly bias. |
I don't disagree much. I was turned off by the fact that I'd have to spend time with someone I don't know and then roleplaying with an unfamiliar person just to see if I even -liked- the game at its core, and I ended up quitting.
