Having recently somewhat heard of the success of Sam and Max (which I haven't played), I immediately thought of trying this with Byond and hence inspired to make this post.
Supposedly, episodic content is slowly starting to become popular and has some benefits such as obviously a shorter development time and I guess what you could call "completion".But since this is mainly a technique used with "bigger" games, I wonder how well would this translate to byond ones? If anything I could see this potentially working for something like a single player rpg maybe, where the "episode" ends after a boss battle.
In a way though, this wouldn't make much sense in that you can always just update your game pretty quickly and/or just block players from going to unfinished areas of the game.
But then again, there are different ways this "episodic" content could be shown. You could either have it truly episodic where you could just choose a section and play it or have to play through all the sections of the game in the mandantory order.
Despite how somewhat unconventional and possibly unfeasible this type of development would be, I still think it would be pretty interesting to try. I would possibly attempt it myself but I figured I'd "Share" the idea rather than keep it to myself. :D
Poll: DO you think episodic games could work with Byond?

I pity the person who tries to do it, will probably be painful.
