So you've been working on your game for the last several months. You've play tested it thoroughly and had plenty of feedback from your beta testers. You've polished it up to a nice sparkling shine and now you're ready for some real players. You post your game on the hub and wait... and wait... and wait... But no one is downloading! What's wrong?

Here are some steps to follow to help your game get downloaded:
  1. Submit your game to guilds (or any other download sites you can find). The more links there are to your game, the better the chance that people will find one. Plus, if you let other sites know about your game, there's the chance that the staff there will like, and this could result in some free publicity for you!
  2. Get people to talk about your game. People aren't likely to see a link for it and immediately think, "Wow, they sounds cool, I'm going to go download it!" Its when other people start talking about it that they become interested. If someone tells their friend, "I just played Path Wrath 2 with Joe and it was a blast!" then the next time their friend comes across a Path Wrath 2 link, they think, "Hey, wasn't that a game that Someone liked? Maybe I'll give it a try!"
  3. While gameplay is what really counts, graphics are important. When you want people to download your game, having some good screenshots of it really counts. People won't know that your gameplay is good unless they download your game, and they won't download your game unless they see something that appeals to them.
  4. Getting people to download your game is just the first hurdle. Once you've got them, you need to keep them, and that means your game has to be captivating enough to make them stay. Most people will make up their minds as to whether they want to play your game or not within the first few seconds of downloading it. If they get the impression that your game isn't quality work, they'll leave.
And a word of warning: if you want to submit your game to guilds, read the guild's submission guidelines before you submit it. If you submit games to guilds that don't want them, you'll create a bad name for yourself. Negative publicity isn't a good thing.

So to sum it up, find as many guilds as you can which share your game's theme and send your game to them. Stir up some talk about your game! Hold contests, promotions, controversies, intrigues, anything to get people talking. Make sure your game looks good and post screenshots of it! Make people see something that they'll want to download it. And once they've downloaded it, make sure that your game has enough to keep them playing!
