we'll see how it works out, the max skill level bonus is an easy thing to change if it turns out to be too much of an imbalance

But I don't like the fact that you can't master ANY abilities without being a subscriber. That's a massive disadvantage.

Well 99% of the skills are fine at level 3; its not like you can only get a skill to level 1 and subs can go to 5--non-subs can get them to 3 which is only 2 levels difference.

Which in the end is still a massive difference in terms of power. Like some of the skill boosts, a 50% skill boost is a hell of alot better then 30%.

I dont have too much of a problem with any of the server benefits;

Though you should just purchase a new host thats willing to host one great server when Beta comes out. Its more fun to have all of the players in 1 server than to have many servers and have them scattered about.

eh since youre here dano, does GOA manage to send its save files to the main server if the host closes their server? cant get that to work right on BE

Save files are sent not as a batch all at once but rather saved on an individual basis. They never ever cache on the individual servers and we do that because we do not want hosts that are untrustworthy to savefile edit.
hmm, heres how mine works in short: creates the save file on the host server, sends it off to the save server, then deletes the file from the host. It doesnt really send them all at the same time, however when the server is shutting down it autosaves everybody and tries sending them off. Problem is when the host closes the server they dont get sent off and just remain on the host's machine. Even if they edited those files though it wouldnt matter, it only reads the ones from the save server. I only delete them cause itd be a pointless waste of space to keep em around. And when you say you dont cache them on the hosts machine ever that means you directly save them onto the main server somehow?
well if you do the save procedure in world/Del or whatever. Then you can ensure that your saving and exporting procs finish before the world actually dies.
nah i tried that it didnt work, right now ive just got a shutdown verb that saves everyone and then shuts down, which works fine. though on another note the game always seems to crash when shutting down, even though it sucesfuly sends all the save files and outputs the message that the world shut down, duno whats up with that <.< might just be on my computer not sure...
Greedy, greedy indeed.
Hey Falacy, sometime later when Im on, would you like to show me how Shikai/Bankai work? I wanted to include that in the review but I couldnt find anyone with them.

And I wasnt sure if they were completed or not.
hmhm, are u on right now? lol
Eh. Ive been trying to get into a few servers but Im being rejected by its player cap.
Fair enough review. The Subcription rant bored though.
the subscription rant is fair though. If it wasnt for the effect of the subscription on all of falacys game's balance he would be a far more popular game developer.
I guess I'd throw the issue out in the open now before the subscription thing formed into bigger in-game character benefits.

Overall its a pretty solid game and it will be alot more fun once beta is out. (I plan on picking human once it is finished.)
It's a good game, So i'll give it my top spot on my favorites list.
But the fact that people need to subscribe to get special benifits or even..more of the skill tree, still drags the game down alot.
Great review rugg.
Good Game
Nice review rugg
In case any of you don't know, the game was originally created by me but, after the realization that my coding ability is inferior to that of Falacy's, he became full-time coder for the game. The majority of the game's visual aspects are done by me with Falacy creating icons and GFX here and there (he is also a surprisingly good artist). In summation, this is a joint project combining the abilities of two talented game creators and I hope that our skill can get this game the number 1 spot.
