I'd create another poll and get some opinions on this, but I've already got a poll running and I really don't care what anyone else says because I think the new layout is awesome. I'm not 100% positive about the black and yellow (with a hint of blue) color scheme, but at least its better than the old dysfunctional look.

I like it. =)

It does looks nice, but I think it's a little too busy. What I dislike most is that content does not have any real type of border, and it's a little hard for me to follow.
|
Don't you just love slaving away at something for several days only to be told that it sucks? :)

In Opera, the "Reply" button is overtop the right part of the header thingy (not sure what it'd be called) on the left side. It does look a bit busy, but otherwise it's nice.
|
I can't help you with the Reply button issue since CSS is stupid and gave me enough trouble getting them where they are in FireFox as it is. I'll just say its your fault for using Opera.
As for the left side, would you prefer I changed the background color over there or something? Remove the dividers? What would be the ideal solution? Everyone keeps telling me its too busy but they won't suggest anything. |
I think it's all the seperate little sections that make it look busy. For example, the little images to the left with the inward-facing-arrow looking thing has eight different "pieces" to it, so to speak.
|
This is nice! I think the two different divider styles make a nice border themselves.

I just find this one a little hard to read, is all. |
Probably has something to do with the borders being the same color as the link text. A bunch of gold lines going everywhere, and some of them mean different things.
