"Meh" would be about the only word I could use to describe this "horror". From the moment I saw the previews in the cinema, I wanted to see this movie. Hoping it would be a half way decent vampire movie. And missing my chance at the cinema to watch it, I waited the few moths until it finally came to work where I could acquire a copy.

Having finally watched it, once again I'm brought to the word "meh". What a let down. It's like, yay, snow and darkness. It even misses the finer points of gore you'd expect to see from a vampire movie, teeth penetrating necks. But no, it's nothing better than softcore porno you rent from a video store as far as penetration goes. Nothing more than crap camera angles with bad music.

Most disappointing.
I agree. I went in convinced it would be the best vampire film ever made and walked out hanging my head. The concept was great, ya know? I mean it was the perfect setting for vampires, but the acting was pretty nasty at times and the vimpire themselves looked and sounded laughable.

The Lost Boys is still at the top of my list as far as vampire movies go, that damn Kiefer Sutherland knew what was up. Know of any better ones?
Vampire films aren't really my thing. I enjoy the pure thrill that is zombie horrors. Sure, you can have bad zombie horrors (Land of the Dead!!!!!), but even still, the unnecessarily large amount of gore always puts smiles on my face.

As for Vampire movies, Dracula Dead and Loving It was by far my favourite vampire movie. But I guess that doesn't count in this situation. Dracula 3000 was utter crap, never watch it. Come to think of it, I don't know of any really good vampire movies.
It was slightly better than Jesus Christ: Vampire Hunter.

There was ONE good part in the movie, with the fat guy in the tractor right before he dies, but one good part doesn't make a movie a good one.

Paris Hilton dying in House of Wax. That was an okay remake, but Paris Hilton's death made the whole movie worth watching.
My best friend is a Vampire is a good 80's vampire movie too.

Zombie movies are great, you just have to love them. I really wanted to see Land of the Dead because I like John Leguizamo, Dennis Hopper, and George A. Romero, but I keep hearing how bad it was. 04's Dawn of the Dead was a decent flick though, and I enjoyed 28 days later. I think one of the best zombie movies I've seen in a while is last year's I am Legend. I mean, I think it was a zombie flick, or maybe a vampire zombie mash-up... I don't know, remakes usually suck, but those two were pretty good.
I enjoyed 28 weeks later more than 28 days later. It had less of a super-hero protagonist and more of a "oh shit, we're boned, run" side to it.
This movie was a huge let down. It had a good concept, but it just sucked. As for vampire movies the only ones I really ever liked were Lost Boys, Interview with a Vampire, Nosferatu, and Blade/Blade II.

I liked 28 Days Later more than 28 weeks. 28 Days Later had this charm of being a zombie movie, where you don't see blood splatter every 30 seconds. It was really kind of tense because you didn't know when someone was going to get bite the dust.

If you're into over-the-top zombie movies, I suggest Braindead. It's probably the most ridiculous Zombie movie I ever watched, it's funny and super gory.

Was it like the Planet Terror segment from Grindhouse? Because that one is pretty ridiculous too.
Well, imo, I liked this movie solely for the Alt action side of it. NOt sure if I can classify it as a :horror: film like they advertised.
What I don't get is why a greenhouse light burned that one vampire to hell....but the fire didn't do a bloody thing. It was poorly thought out, really. Seriously, "Infect me with vampire blood so I can go kill the other vampires!" makes no damn sense.

Planet Terror looks quite mild in comparison to Braindead. You can watch the 'lawnmower' scene from Braindead on Youtube if you want to see what it's like.

...I had no idea she was even in it... I fantasize about her dying every day... Might have to give it a watch.

You're right, that is pretty good stuff. The acting and music reminds me of this horror movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7gIpuIVE3k
Enjoy!

Yeah, good, if you're thirteen and don't have any concept of good movies...

Greenhouse light is more like sunlight than fire. Traditionally it's the UV rays in sunlight that does a vampire in, greenhouse lights tend to produce UV rays to emulate sunlight.
