Recently I found out that indeed it was confirmed, the new BioWare MMORPG is based on the Star Wars universe, in the KOTOR timeline.

I've been a Star Wars fan for almost all my life, and an MMORPG sounds like a dream, especially from BioWare and Pandemic.

Yes, I know what you're thinking "What about Star Wars Galaxies?". Well, I was talking about a Star Wars MMO that doesn't lick my balls.

No, but seriously SWG has a crappy engine, the game is as stable as a 3 year old on a bicycle. The gameplay is awful, dull and extremely one-sided.
Go to a badly modeled generic "facility", kill 3 of those, 15 of those and then the boss, pick up an item and return. This goes on forever and ever.

Maybe you'll get into crafting, but the economy sucks. There is hardly enough players to fill the planets, cause most of them left after the Combat Update and such.

And the better sorts of equipment lack variety. Sure, the low-level stuff is some random words put together and given some crappy stats.
So, you'll see mainly the higher levels wearing the same crap.

Though, there are a few positive sides to SWG.
1. It's Star Wars, you just cant hate Star Wars, hate Sony.
2. The spaceships with an interior were just awesome.
3. I kinda liked the housing, I had this cool large house. Didn't even have enough stuff to fill it with.

SWG is pretty much the only MMORPG I've ever payed for, I haven't even played WoW. I registered for beta testing, but I don't remember why I didn't play it. And later on, well.. I didn't have the resources to P2P, being a kid and all.

By now, its a bit old. No point in starting something when you can wait a bit and get something better. This leads us back to the BioWare/Pandemic MMORPG.

Now, I sure as hell hope that LucasArts is the one going to publish the game, leaving EA a bystander to all of it. Pay them a percentage or something.

With all the cool stuff they did in Mass Effect, BioWare has more than enough experience to make a damn good game. Making an MMO out of it is just technical crap, which they're more than capable of handling. Pandemic can take care of the multiplayer parts.

Seriously, the golden trio of good SW games are: KOTOR, Battlefront and EaW. BioWare made KOTOR, Pandemic made Battlefront. Thats 2/3, I have high expectations for this game.

Now to move on to more good news from BioWare.

THEY'RE GOING TO RELEASE MASS EFFECT FOR THE PC!

I can die happy now, that is after I play it of course. Seriously, I've been whining and pouting ever since I found out that Mass Effect is 360 only.

Though, there is a sad thing about future RPGs.
Force Unleashed is going to be released on a bunch of consoles, but not the PC. I know, old news. But whenever I think of SW, I can't get that out of the back of my mind.

I don't have the money to buy a console, and I'm not gonna ask my parents. I never did like asking money from them. And the small amounts of pocket money I make from making websites and such, go to well.. Food and beer.

I wanted to get a job this summer to buy some console and stuff, but with exams and such, theres not much time. I'll see what I can do though. Getting a part time job during school is really hard too, most people don't really want to pay teenagers that much. I'm not working for candy money either, why oh why don't they take us seriously?

I had this job in last summer where I was sort of a guide/assistant/translator for the European Volleyball teams, they had some qualification tourneys in my hometown or something.

Not much people took me seriously, the woman at the hotel was always asking strange questions aswell.

Going on to my last topic, a project codenamed Windows 7, previously known as "Vienna" and "Blackcomb". I've always thought that they can't keep on this Vista crap forever, and I knew I was right when I saw an announcement of Windows 7 Milestone 1 being finished. They plan to release it in 2010.

I started to look into it, turns out they have some good ideas on their minds. It uses a newly made kernel, called MinWin and instead of bloating it like they did with Vista, they minimalized it. I don't know if my thinking of OSes is somewhat old-fashioned or something, but I've always thought that a new OS was supposed to run faster, more efficient and be more reliable.
Everything Vista was not.

Now, second thing they plan to use is a new file system, codenamed WinFS (Short for Windows Future Storage). Not much is known about this thing, except that they made some new way to organize files and folders and stuff. From what I know, this should make it run more smoothly and faster.

If I didn't know any better, I'd say that Microsoft came to their senses.
My guess is that they just started pushing with the project, since not nearly enough people are going to Vista. No new OS purchases = no money for M$. Good OS = More buyers.

Whatever, I'm sticking with XP until the beta-leak of Windows 7. And then I'll decide if its any good or not. Though, I have to make the transition by then, by that time I'm sure a lot of games wont support DirectX 9 anymore.

Heck, I'd install Linux on my main PC right away if I wasn't such a gamer. Just gonna have to stick to messing around in my Debian server over putty. I mean, a fresh install of Kubuntu, upgrade to KDE4 and make some custom themes. Voila! Best looking OS ever.

Hmm... Whats the 2010 of the M$ calendar converted to a Gregorian calendar?

Wow, this has to be the longest post ever by me, I mean I used to own a blog once. I updated it like every 3-6 months with around three sentences or so. Anyway, glad I got most of the stuff going on in my head out.

Hey, don't forget Republic Commando. That game rocked on so many levels.
So, what you're saying is, another 360 'exclusive' has become very unexclusive? Once sales really start dipping for Halo 3 they'll release that on PC. I'm just waiting on Dead Rising.

Confirmed? Where? All there has been is rumors, and a recent list of games EA released that Bioware is working suggest the Starwars game is seperate from the MMO.
