In the arcade version at least, I'm pretty sure that you could beat the dog so bad that he was covered in bandages and walked on crutches. =)

They left out one, I forget his name but it is the security guard or janitor from the Dead Rising game that constantly calls you over the walkie-talkie while flesh eating zombies are coming at you.

At least you could shoot her the second time.
