It really makes me mad when you host a game an give everyone a list of rules to follow in attempts to make your life easy. An they totally ignore you thinking they have some ungodly right to play the game your hosting. I mean clearly they are ignoring you an the rules an your so busy you dont have the time to be on the game every second of your life yet people think you should be. I was hosting PRPR then I got busy with other things so I went on an worked on getting it done checked in on PRPR every few ten or so minutes an every time I come back id have atleast a list of ten people breaking the rules that I just clearly yelled into there ears ten minutes ago!
I makes me mad that I need to shut down the game just because some idiots have a mental deficiency to anything doing with the rules but I dont have time to GM an people are crying that im not doing my job. Its sad when you think about it but not much I can do about it with the lack of GM's PRPR has now a days I can't just call in staff. An I havent seen to many people that would really be a good GM. So here we sit with no staff on other then myself. I was hoping things might turn out ok but shortly after going afk it was clear how well that was going to work out.
So yah I guess thats the end of my rant... Seeing as I have clearly said everything that needs to be said other then the fact that most people are freaking retards. Half of the idiots that are sitting there being stupid wouldnt go out an break the law so why in the world do they sit there an break the rules just because its a game. Rules are made for a reason not just because people think its something thats fun to wave in peoples faces its ment to keep order. GAH!

There are severe consequences for breaking the law, the rules of the internet on the other hand are fair play to break.
|
Hmm, yeah I hated that too..That's why I tried to distance myself from fangames..Other than that, I'd probably trying making a a automated rule enforcer that way you don't have to think ethically about each situation of rule breaking that occurs. I found myself doing that a lot but its probably because I'm wayy too nice than is necessary on the internet..
|
Yeah I guess so light but really its a matter of respect people should follow them because they are rules shouldnt matter if its a law or not if you ask me. Rules wouldnt be made if there wasnt a reason in the first place to make them. An mecha as much as I would love to do something like that im just not the type of person to do it that way.
I give way to many people another try at it... <.< Im just to nice i guess.... |
I guess the only -real- way to prevent this would be not to -allow- them to break the rules. Make filters and other rule enforcing systems.

Just calm down take a breather. Its worked wonders for me XD. oh, when I get WoW back you better play with me >.>

Well I know I'm not up to GMing on PRPR but if you want I can make a list of things that shouldn't be happening so when you get on you don't need to warn and can just rapidly ban/boot/noob ball without worrying :\

Thanks for that wonderfully insightful answer. May I respond with a big fat "DUH!"

Well use your logic and just expect that it's all of them... if they break one they break them all... language, attacking out of WW, Trainers going near dummy, Pokemon logging catches, etc. The list is enormous.
|
This is why a game must be coded so that it's impossible to break the rules, therefore wouldn't need any rules. But as we all know PRPR was released prematurely because no one could wait. :[

Isn't pokemom RP the same game that has had Gyms "closed" forever?
Come on. No gyms in a pokemon game? |

Isn't pokemom RP the same game that has had Gyms "closed" forever? Although it was planned for the game, as Lera said earlier, the game was released pre-maturely which means that a lot of the features planned for the game where either left out, or were just being implemented into the game around the time the game was released. The most popular example of this is when you first create a trainer on Prpr. As soon as you exit the starter house, you find a sign that tells you to enter the Gym to get your starter pokemon. Well, the starter pokemon npc feature was never implemented in the current version and just got kinda stuck in there, which is why the Gym to the starter pokemon is closed. To be honest, I think we should just destroy the sign and replace it with a more meaningful one that explains how to catch pokemon in the wild for this current version. It would at least, put an end for the most part to some common questions that appear over OOC. As for the rules of Prpr, many of us know that the rules will be easier to enforce in the update. There will be preventive and some extra features that will make GMing easier. As for the current version, Most of the Gms and veteran players realize it can be very annoying and tiresome to enforce rules in this version, as there are not a lot of preventive devices and such to prevent people from breaking rules. Take a look at the n00b ball. Just about everyone liked this new feature when it came out that it seemed like a toy. Heck, rule-breakers probably see this as a toy or a joke and thus they constantly relog to get out of it. A lot of us may not like every aspect of the current version, but we still stick around because of friends, and chat and such. |
I think the biggest problem is, 75% of the currently staff members have the same timezone. So when it's night for them, and they have to sleep. The other 35% of the staff members has a change to join then, but I'm affraid they just don't have the time then, or don't know the game is up. And yEAH, It's true. If they know there arent any staff members on, they will kill outside of WW, or cursing against eachother.
About the N00b ball, yeah, just like Fire said, The people relog, get send back to the Sanctuary and click Rest so they're free to go. but yes, You can't host if half of the players ruin the game because they just don't obey the rules. And you can't GM there the whole day long. You need time for yourself too. thats all what I can say for now.. Hopefully things won't happen like what happened before. |
