Ahoy! Recent changes in BYOND's commerce system, as well as the new skin features, have made the old Plunder Gnome interface obsolete. In order to bring the game back to a working state, I've created a new skin and removed the donation requirement. Special thanks to Elation and Hiead for their generous donations.

The skin is still completely new, so there may be some bugs. Please tell me what you think by leaving feedback on the forum. The game can be found here:

Enjoy, and be sure to envite me to your server should you see me online!
Looks good, But I didn't get to play it because it was PVP only. I'd like to see a single player option. :)
Sort of the whole point of plundergnome is about smashing some online byonder into a hedgerow and making off with all his hard-won radishes. Would it even translate to one player?
AI.
The programming in Plunder Gnome is basically all in the joining system... remember, the first version of this game was made in the span of four hours for the GiaD event. The actual gameplay code isn't very large at all.

Why am I mentioning this? The difference between a single player game and a multiplayer game is all in the interface and how a player would join the game. To make a single player 'mode' for plunder gnome would be to make an entirely new game, and I don't want to take on a new project right now.

The AI for single player Plunder Gnome is pretty much already finished (Seth and Ethan), but no AI will play like a person (even if the AI presents a greater challenge). There's something magical in seeing five other real people running around crazy, knowing they only have 40sec more to collect radishes, having to make split second choices about the best way to do so.

Were I to entrust someone with the source, is there anyone here who'd like the task of spiffying up Plunder Gnome?
Whether AI plays like a human or not, being able to play single player at least gives people a chance to try the game before they decide that they want to play it with other people.
I'm not sure if you should believe Foomer- remember, he didn't even donate to Plundergnome in the first place!

Good Point.

Hm... very true. I think he needs to donate double to compensate.
