I decided to release a 'teaser' demo of SGC for you to test out the new Dialing System we've temporarily thrown it (it's a mess, trust me).
Download the following zip, and extract as a normal BYOND game, but a few things to note:
The mode is in Demo mode, meaning a lot of normal features such as the doors are off, so you can only use the teaser we've got for you. There is a cheat to change the mode to normal, but you'll have to work that out for yourselves.
The Auto-Dialing System and Sound Effects are compliments of Phoenix Man, although banned, his work still goes on (don't worry I double check all the code for 'irregularities'.)
To start the dialing sequence, simply double click the middle computer in the Gate room, and it will auto-dial to demonstrate the Earth's dialing system. Sounds are included so make sure you have it turned up.
When the gate opens, wait for the 'kawoosh' to go back into the event horizon, and step through the gate. You will be transported to a small room, with a gate and a DHD. Wait for the gate to auto-turn off, and then use the DHD to dial Earth (the address is accurate to the shows, so you can find the Earth address anywhere you look, but for conveniance, i'll include the glyph number so it's not so hard to work it out: 28 26 05 36 11 29 )
I don't think dialing out from the DHD gate has complete sounds yet so don't worry if you don't hear chevrons locking. But you do get the kawoosh sound and stuff.
The cool thing about Earth is that when the gate is dialed in/out, the SGC alarm is sounding. *smiley!*
I'm currently working on saving and more sound effects, along with the Combat system so there's something fun to do.
Expect this to be released either later tonight or by Friday (I have work during the week)

Those damn gate sounds are cool lol. I'll probably end up playing this. I used to watch the series for abit (thought the film was pretty good), but I got bored of it to be honest, not enough wars, not enough important characters dying, and if they did, they were copied/revived/return later in the series somewhere else and didnt actualy die.
Anyway, looks nice. |
