So I'm starting this project called OpenProto, and I'm still trying to add more of a finish to the page and getting the back button working again. I believe I have a complete solution to getting the back button working, but I need some input on it from people with low-performance machines. The main thing I need to know is if it brings your machine to its knees. Thanks.

[Note: The fact that the page is a bit slow at detecting navigation doesn't really matter, since my target audience isn't there for speed, they're there for simple information]
Just go find Crashed, give him the webpage, and wait for him to complain about lag or crashing.

I give you 9:1 odds that he'll complain about lag within a few minutes (it takes that long for him to load a page)
It almost crashed my decent machine.
What's decent?
Everyone is there for speed, always!
It is slow moving, but does not even use 1% CPU usage for me. What are you doing to make it so slow?

It's slow moving because it only updates the hash and waits for the next check to do anything.

What are the specs on that machine? It doesn't even phase my machine w/ an AMD Sempron 1.5GHz processor.
