ahhh proof of concept is a great point. GOA started off entirely as a proof of concept because nobody would listen to my rants about how log training annoyed me and that Tenten/Rocklee arent clans.

Oh and good to know kalzar, interesting indeed.

Umm, the players is what keeps me going really, every time I think about quitting people come to my house with baseball bats, and then... Cant really remember past that part, but yeah I guess they care xD

And yeah, nkm's old ai system game was a blast making, idk why, but programming some stuff is fun >.> When really coding is like doing homework for the fun of it.
Pride, Gloatability, and the fact that you could rub it in the faces of those who said they have been on the game longer. And to help practice my skills.
candy, lots of it
you should make the sound the thunder and the stone villages along with mokuton mangekyo sharingan and sai's ink thing masterdan
I believe this is where you comment on his article "What is your motivation [To game developers]", Amarakandeh, you should go to the GOA forum's suggestion section. And find exactly what you're asking for has been asked hundreds of times already.

I think... I do it for the people who are looking for these games I never found, you know? So, when someone else looks for one of these games that I know I've been looking for so long, they actually find it.

I know I haven't gotten very far on a game yet though, so I guess I'll see.
I don't really see what people achieve from getting GM in a game other than having some "god-like" powers in the game. My motivation is usually just programming itself, I find it enjoyable to do and it does get fun sometimes.
To put it bluntly My motivation is to try killing off the zeta and rebirth rips with a good Dragonball game which im currently developing.

also it motivates me when people leave good comments on work i have done.

Who cares about god-like powers? When you create a game, you are god. It's about creating my own universe and letting other people share in it's splendor.
