Well, it appears there is a scandal going on involving Eidos Interactive.

I know news have a way of being false, but if proven true could result in trouble for Eidos Interactive. :P

They should rehire that guy. Gamespot usually gives pretty dead-on reviews, and from what I hear he was right about this game not living up to the hype.

They won't, they are getting paid off by Eidos most likely. So as long as Eidos continues to pay them, he won't have a chance in hell of getting that job back.

It'll be the Gamespot staff that are annoyed. He was handling a big game for them and, if I remember right, he actually said "don't buy this game". Imagine you've got everything budgeted out. Then one of your employees walks in and tells you that because he punched the sponsor in the face you wont be getting half the money in the budget. Suddenly you're choosing between paying your server costs and paying your staff. Do you really want that guy working for you? |
Welcome to the world of advertiser funded media, "The no truth zone" Akiro is correct in his assessment of how things would go down at gamespot, one reason not to bother paying attention to any reviews and or commentary on nearly anything about anything and take it at face value. Of course these media companies like to pretend they're unbiased and theres how you wind up with what should be entirely expected of such companies becoming scandals.
