Hello everyone, it's nice to orate to the masses after having been silent for so long. I'm filling in for Mikau since he's suffering an acute case of "I don't give a damn" today. Anyway, I thought I'd reiterate what Mikau's gone over several times already, because some people apparently don't get it.

We received a number of games to be reviewed for listing acceptance. I'll detail why none of them were approved in the order they were submitted.

Jrsosa17.DragonballEternalLegacy2 : I haven't touched a Dragonball BYOND game in a long while, so I'm not up to date on what's a rip and what's original or anything like that. With that in mind, I logged on to Dragonball Eternal Legacy 2 with the intention of reviewing it solely based on its quality and quantity of roleplay. After talking to a few people, it became alarmingly apparent that not only did they not RP in the game, some of them didn't even know what roleplaying was.

Akiyo.AlagaesiaTrailsofTomorrow : Alagesia's hub description made it sound promising. Unfortunately, with no hosted server, it's extremely difficult to determine whether or not any roleplaying actually occurs. While I am denying the submission this time, I encourage Akiyo (or anyone else associated with the game) to contact the Roleplayer's Guild with more information. We're really stagnant around here (probably because our standards are unreasonably high for the BYOND community), and generating some hype for an upcoming RP game would be great.

KershiVelix.PWCB : I extend the same courtesy to KershiVelix, because I was unable to access any hosted servers at the time of the review. Get in touch with us, tell us what you're about, and we might not just list you but try and generate some community interest as well!

Bushuda94.LostSoulsofTime : This is a rip. Not only is it a rip, but there's no mention of roleplay at all within the community. So it's a rip and it's not a roleplaying game. Why did you think this needed to be listed under the Roleplayer's Guild?

SpectorEntertainment.Progeny : I had slightly higher hopes for Progeny, because I've heard the name mentioned before, but it doesn't seem to be finished, so I can't Approve the submission without some prior discussion. Worldweaver, or anyone else from SpectorEntertainment, is encouraged to drop us a line so we can try and get the word out about an upcoming RP BYOND game.

Lilkondey.dbzGTtne : Wasn't hosted. There wasn't any indication of roleplay mentioned on its hub entry, though, so I have a feeling it's not really going to have a place here anyway.

Narutohyuga.ShardsOfTime : Rip, no RP, etc.

So there you have it. A few no's, a couple of maybe's, and an unfortunate lack of "yes". I should note that all of the hosted Dragonball games I logged in to tonight for this review each shared the same codebase. We aren't BYOND Anime. We don't accept rips, and unfortunately due to the stigma your peers have helped create around the genre, we hold most anime fangames to a much stricter standard than their non-anime counterparts. Please keep this in mind before submitting a game for listing.

We're far too dead. I know that's a bit hypocritical after having just denied a lot of new blood, but I firmly believe that we can make the Roleplayer's Guild work without lowering out standards. There are games being developed right now that are perfect for us, and I want all of you developers to get in touch with me at your convenience with project details.

I highly admire ACWraith's "Along the Tech Tree" posts in BYOND Strategy, and I think it's a good idea to do in pretty much any genre-oriented guild. Help us become active!
I don't believe any of the team members submitted the game to the guild. Unless of course I pressed the button on accident.

Anyways, we'll submit the game to guilds when it is ready. Sorry that some one wasted your time.
Regarding the post, yeah, I don't think there's anything wrong with maintaining high standards. Half of the point of this guild is to make sure that the quality role-playing games get showcased above and beyond your typical BYOND Anime and BYOND RPG cuss-and-pbaggers or hack-and-slashers (respectively).

That we have a decided lack of any such games at the moment is, of course, due to the fact that most dyed-in-the-wool roleplayers share similar characteristics, specifically the ability to be entertained by a wide variety of things, ergo the inability to concentrate on a single task to the exclusion of all others. (Prove me wrong! ;-))
Alagaesia: Trails of Tomorrow is infact a role-playing game, but the lack of a GOOD host is the problem right now. Whenever I seem to get a good host they either disappear on me for unknown reasons or turn out to be those kind of people who assume you will let them get away with anything just because they keep your game up and running. I simply don't work that way, and have decided it's better to not have a host rather than an abusive one.

The other issue is actually getting roleplayers to join the game. The game's petty arena system attracts players who seem to think that is the game, but is really meant to be something to pass time.

The plan for the game was to allow players to have their own RPs and I would designate a night for an official one to occur. In official RPs prizes would be rewarded for the arena system, amongst other things I have yet to think out.

The game is no where near completion, but is more than capable of allowing players to roleplay. The problem is keeping the game up.

I don't think I re-submitted the game after somebody told me to tell them what it was about because of the lack of a host at that time as well. Whenever I get a host that I feel will actually work out, I will be sure to let you all know.
