Today's quiet website update allows Members to choose their time zone so that post and comment times now seem sane to those around the world. Edit your website to set yours. Think we have enough choices?
In other news, I've now completed the first pieces of a new comment tracking system that will allow people to receive notifications for comment threads belonging to other Members' posts. I believe this has been requested a few times recently. The system is generalized so that any Member can "subscribe" to any comment thread, receiving email and/or pager updates with new comments. By default, you'll automatically subscribe to your own posts' threads, and you'll have an option to automatically subscribe to threads that you comment in.
The generalized subscription and notification is working, but the automation and options aren't there yet. For now, I leave it at that, as I have some admin business to attend to.

Nice. You even have my exact city on the list! Good work! =)

Nice, I like it.
Why do you have Canberra and Sydney though? They have the exact same time. :\ |
Sinyc, I belive Pacific/Auckland should cover New Zealand (is the entire country one time zone?).
As for why so many, these are simply all of the time zones supported by the Linux version running on our server. Easier just to list them all than try to filter them down. :) |
